Tri-State 7 Miler
Sue Kerstan writes:
"I think my time in Sioux City was 47:58 for the seven-miler. It
was so long ago, I can't remember!!! There were no Sioux Falls
people there. It was a humid, foggy day and the air was heavy. The
Missouri River Runners always do a nice job with their runs - very well
organized, etc. They had a nice presentation of their club at the poolside
award ceremony, along with lots of treats and refreshments. More people
should take advantage of this race - it is really fun." [Sue was
the overall female winner].
Includes a 2 mile walk, and 2 and 4 mile runs, which start at 8:45 a.m. Also, a kid's 1 mile, starting at 8:15. The runs are USA Track and Field Course Certified by RRTC.

Aug 18th is $12 with T-shirt; $8.00 without T-shirt. After Aug 18th,

Goose Run - Pierre, SD
Jim and Sue Kerstan indicate:
"There was a 5K, 10K, and a half-marathon. We both ran the half. The wind
was blowing around 20 miles an hour, so we had the wind in our face on
the way out, and up a very slight incline. You didn't notice the incline
until you came back and it felt like you were running slightly downhill.
There were 3-4 miles of dirt/sand/gravel at the beginning of the race and
near the end - it was an out and back course. I ran 1:36 and Jim ran around
1:41. Jim has only run about three miles since the SF half, so I
thought he ran really well. Jim's sister, Kathy ran the 5K. There
was a guy there from Georgia that flew in just for the half-marathon. He
is trying to run a race in every capital, and he just happened to pick
South Dakota. He has about 14 more states to go."
