The course starts and finishes in Scenic Park in South Sioux City. The course is a scenic and flat course that runs along the banks of the Missouri River. All pre-registered runners are guaranteed an event T-shirt, pancake breakfast, refreshments at
start & finish lines. Bonus money for Men's and Women's course record breakers in the 8K. Cash prizes for the top 3
Men's & Women's open finishers and Medals for 1st-3rd Place Age Group finishers.

Saturday, August 5th, 2006 - 20th Annual Spearfish Canyon Half-Marathon and 5 mile walk - Spearfish, SD
(Back to the Old course this year! All downhill once again!)
Entry fees: Half Marathon: $35 before 7/1/06; $40 after, 5K Run/Walk:  $20 before 7/1/06; $25 after
Children 12 and under are free, T-shirts to all paid participants.
Join champion marathon runner, author and motivational speaker Dick Beardsley in the Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon!
Dick will be running the 2006 Spearfish Canyon Half  Marathon with all our participants. Dick will be on hand to award medals and
will speak to runners after the race.
New this year – in addition to the half marathon, we will have a timed 5K run for those who like a shorter race.
Medals will be awarded to the top two male and female racers in each age category.
100% of the proceeds benefit the Northern Hills Area CASA Program, which trains and supports community volunteers to advocate on
behalf of abused and neglected children involved in the court system. Your entry fee donation is tax deductible.

The race begins at 8 AM with registration at 7AM and will be held at the Bonesteel Fairfax High School gym.
There is a 5K and 10K race held on a TAC Certified course. Age groups are PreHigh School, High School,
Post High School to 29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. 1st place over all male and female and
