Saturday, May 10th, 2003 - Sioux City 5k dog jog, Sioux City, Iowa
The morning will begin with a 5K fun run which will be timed with medals awarded in various age groups. Registration and check in for the run will begin at 9 a.m. near shelter one at the park. The run will start at 9:30 a.m. Following the run, people and their dogs on leashes can walk at their own pace around the Bacon Creek Park lake. Registration and check in for the walk will begin at 9:30 and walkers can begin at 10 a.m. The morning will feature other events as well. The Humane Society will have an Adopt-a-Dog program at the Dog Jog. There also will be a silent auction, booths of dog-related businesses and a hot dog lunch following the walk. People who register for the Dog Jog by April 12 will be eligible for door prizes. There is an entry fee of $20 which will include a Dog Jog T-shirt, a dog bandana and a goodie bag with coupons and free samples.
